The Juruá River has many stories, one of them is about a man called Padrinho Sebastião Mota de Melo, a man of the forest who knew many mysteries. He was born with deep abilities that he developed into healing skills and spiritual wisdom within the forest of Juruá. At the age of 40 years, he left this region and never returned. Today, his son, Alfredo Gregório de Melo, also born in Juruá, continues in his father's footsteps. His project of building the community of Céu do Juruá , at Seringal Adélia, is a return to the work that his father began.
